Sometimes a significant addition of square footage is required to transform a property and deliver a strong return. Not always however, this is a great example of how the character and living space can be transformed by removing an existing conservatory, adding a small amount of additional space, and completely remodeling the space available.
This property had already been redesigned by one Architect but the clients were left underwhelmed and uninspired.
The thing that sets D.A.K. apart is our desire to create the right space for each client. Every project is different and every client has their own unique requirements. The first thing we build with our clients is a relationship. Once we fully understand their needs and we've created a clear brief do we then start to create a design.
This property has a stunning backdrop and we worked with the clients to not only create a beautiful building but also connect the internal space with its surroundings. Altering the ridge line and profile of the roof allowed the external rear elevation and internal living space to be almost doubled in size with huge spacious rooms, flooded with natural light.
The original conservatory and dormer were removed to create clean, modern lines that opened up the internal space and allowed the addition of a small 2 m extension along the rear elevation.
An open-plan design for modern living. Note the large utility room which is one of the most important spaces in any home. This is the room that makes every other part of the homework.
The 1st-floor living space has been increased significantly and flooded with light, simply by altering the roofline and profile. Note the position of the central ridge in the master bedroom with a beautiful vaulted ceiling.
